Spice Avenue began with a simple mission: to make life easier for South Asian families in the Adelaide Hills. For years, getting the real taste of home meant a 30–40 km round trip, nearly an hour on the road just to find the spices we grew up with.

Our Story
Spice Avenue was born from a simple but powerful need: to bring authentic Sri Lankan, Indian, and Middle Eastern groceries closer to the families who call the Adelaide Hills, home.
How It Began
We were born into a world filled with the aroma of home, the crackle of mustard seeds in hot oil, the perfume of curry leaves drifting through the house, the deep warmth of roasted spices that wrapped every meal in comfort. Growing up surrounded by Asian flavours wasn’t just about food. It was culture, memory, identity. It was how we celebrated, how we healed, how we connected.
When we moved to the Adelaide Hills, we carried those flavours with us, but we quickly realised something was missing. There was no place to buy authentic Asian spices, no shelves lined with the ingredients that shaped our childhood. If we wanted the real taste of home, we had to travel all the way closer to the city. Every trip reminded us of the gap in our own community. And that’s where the idea for Spice Avenue was born..
